Please reach us at Info@fightorflightclub.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Heard of CBT? Psychoanalysis? Person Centred? So have we!

Different people solve problems in different ways, some people find it really helpful to talk things through and understand their past. Others prefer practical strategies and focusing on changing their thinking or behaviour in the here and now. Some people just want someone to listen without judgement, whilst others may want to explore how they are feeling through a range of other ways. A pluralistic approach is the belief that there isn't just one right way to help someone. We believe that we all need different things and at different times, and combine our knowledge to better understand how to help you. We believe you are the expert of your own life and we aim to work together to form a plan suited to you.

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy is a professional association. The BACP register sets and enforces high standards of proficiency, professionalism and good practice for BACP members. Practitioners listed meet rigorous standards for safe and ethical practice.  British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

Typically the first session is just about you getting to know us, and us getting to know you. We'll ask things like basic information, we'll explain what therapy can look like and answer any questions you may have. If you are ready, and only if you are ready, we can chat about what brought you to therapy. The pace of therapy is always on your terms.

The answer to this varies dependant upon who you ask, for us the difference is quite simply the length and depth of therapy.

Counselling is seen as a shorter term, problem focused approach. For some people, counselling can help with specific goals and targets in timeframes.

Therapy is seen as a longer term, broader approach to deeper connecting traumas, painful thinking styles and patterns, or fears.

Regardless of what brings you to therapy, the length is always up to you.

The relationship between you and your therapist is extremely important. Making use of things like free consultation appointments can help give you a sense of the person you're working with, and of course we are never offended if we aren't the right match for you. We are happy to provide you with information on finding other therapists in your area if we don't feel like the right match.

Of course, we offer one to one sessions from our office in Glenrothes, Fife, we also offer online and phone appointments for those further afield or if you feel as though coming to the office may be a bit too much. We also offer walk and talk therapy where your therapist can meet you at an arranged location.

The answer to this is it's entirely personal. Some people prefer the online set up, fitting it around busy schedules and not having to worry about making it to the office. Others prefer the ability to escape in person, to have a space out with their normal to unpack the things going on for them. We are happy to work with you to find the best fit for you.

In line with our governing body, therapy is strictly confidential and can only be breached in the following situations:
